Topplane Travel
would like to invite you to join us on a tour to
Dearborn, Michigan to The Henry Ford - the
history destination that brings the “American Experience” to life.
We will be visiting during “This Old Car Festival”
weekend. Take in the spectacle as the streets and grounds of
Greenfield Village are filled with the sights, sounds, and
smells of hundreds of authentic vehicles from the 1890s through
1932. Enjoy a self-guided tour through this fabulous exposition and
talk to proud owners about their treasured vehicles. Watch drivers
engage in games of skill, see a Model T assembled in just minutes,
attend fascinating presentations, and sit back and enjoy experts
sharing "car talks" while vintage vehicles pass by. Greenfield
Village, a 90 acre historic village, is considered the
first and largest outdoor museum in America. Nearly 100 historical
buildings were moved to the property from their original locations
and arranged in a “village” setting. The museum shows how Americans
lived and worked since the founding of the country. The Village
includes buildings from the 17th century to the present, many of
which are staffed by costumed interpreters who conduct period tasks
like farming, sewing and cooking. A collection of craft buildings
such as pottery, glass-blowing and tin shops provide
demonstrations. The transportation system provides rides by
horse-drawn omnibus, steam locomotive, a 1931 Model AA bus and
authentic Ford Model Ts. Some of the most notable homes and
buildings include: Henry Ford’s birthplace, Wright brothers’ home &
bicycle shop and more. The Henry Ford Museum began as Henry
Ford’s personal collections of historic objects which he began
collecting as far back as 1906. Today, the 12 acre site is a
collection of antique machinery, pop culture items, automobiles,
locomotives, aircraft and other items such as the chair in which
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and the limousine in which John F.
Kennedy was shot. During the 100th anniversary of the sinking,
The Henry Ford will host the largest touring Exhibition of
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. This Exhibition,
features more than 300 artifacts. Visitors will walk through
extensive room re-creations, be able to get their photos taken near
the full-scale replica of the Grand Staircase, as well as learn
about passengers on board. Also, while we are in the Detroit area,
we will be taking a tour of the Masonic Temple of Detroit.
Dedicated on November 25, 1926, the Masonic Temple is the hidden gem
of Detroit and proudly remains the largest Masonic Temple in the
world! There will also be time for shopping at the local mall. So
please, join us on this exciting, historic Topplane Travel
